Job Overview :
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support the rehabilitation team in providing high-quality patient care in an inpatient setting. The PTA will assist the Physical Therapist with treatment plans, patient progress tracking, and caregiver education, ensuring optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide treatment to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per state PT Board requirements.
Assist in maintaining the department and treatment areas.
Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
Train nursing staff and Restorative Aides on patient care techniques.
Communicate patient progress, challenges, and plans with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members.
Instruct patients' families or caregivers on maintenance programs in preparation for discharge.
Report any equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
Participate in in-service training programs and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and staff.
Requirements :
Must hold an active PTA license in the state.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Proficient with EMR systems such as Casamba or Point Click Care.
Ability to maintain license in good standing and complete continuing education requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Additional Information :
13-week contract, 40 hours per week.
Holiday coverage may be required.
