The Director of Commercial and Pricing Strategy & Enablement is a key leadership role reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Xylem. This position is responsible for driving impactful results across the Water Solutions & Services (WSS) segment through strategic pricing, commercial strategy, and sales enablement.

Leading a cross-functional team, the Director will spearhead the transition from cost-plus pricing to market-based value strategies, while modernizing sales and account management practices to elevate customer experience, accelerate growth, and enhance profitability.

The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep expertise in pricing strategy, sales enablement, and digital innovation. They will collaborate across product management, sales, marketing, IT, and operations to build a scalable, data-driven commercial ecosystem, influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

This role will be based in our Charlotte, NC Enterprise Collaboration Hub.

Core Responsibilities :

Pricing Strategy

  • Develop and implement global pricing strategies that maximize market share, profitability, and customer value across all WSS product lines and solution applications.
  • Lead pricing governance, including list price setting, value proposition assessment, price realization, inflation tracking, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, manufacturing, and product management to ensure pricing aligns with cost structures and competitive positioning.
  • Establish competitive pricing models and participate in industry forums to monitor trends and benchmark performance.

Commercial Transformation & Sales Enablement

  • Enhance the Commercial Management Operating System powered by analytics to empower regional sales and service teams.
  • Drive digital modernization of sales and account management processes using ERP, CRM, Power Automate, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Partner with IT and divisional business leaders to transition analog workflows into integrated digital solutions, improving process visibility and customer engagement.
  • Lead the development of a master account management portal for proactive communication, task tracking, and document management.
  • Measure ROI of transformation initiatives and continuously refine strategies to support sales growth and customer retention.
  • Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to pricing specialists, aftermarket teams, and sales leaders on pricing and commercial strategies.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to attract, retain, and develop top commercial talent.
  • Ensure alignment of commercial initiatives with strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership commitment.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in pricing strategy, sales enablement, or commercial transformation.
  • Proven success in driving digital innovation and commercial growth through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
  • Deep understanding of core business processes and technical solutions in sales and account management.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and change management capabilities.
  • The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 to $205,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
