Boiler Operator

Job Summary

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the operation of the boiler and boiler processes.

Shift Hours : 7am-3 : 30pm

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Starts boiler fire; may operate water tube boiler coal gas or wood fired boilers.
• Checks reverse osmosis unit.
• Monitors feed water boiler water water softener and water treatment unit.
• Adds chemicals on a daily basis.
• Monitors oil temperature in turbine bearings; measures oil in underground storage tanks.
• Performs daily greasing and oiling.
• Conducts coal inventory; keeps area around coal hopper clean.
• Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and / or slippery floors and high heat and / or cold temperatures.
