Physical Therapist - Durham, NC (#R10223)

Location :  Durham, NC

Employment Type :  Contract

Hourly Rate :  $54.29 / hour

Position Overview :

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing Inc. seeks qualified Physical Therapists to join the Durham Public Schools team. The PT will provide school-based services supporting students’ mobility, access, and participation in educational settings. The role emphasizes collaborative, student-centered practice under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Qualifications :

  • Education :  Doctorate or Master's in Physical Therapy
  • Licensure :

    • Active North Carolina license from the NC Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (NCBPTE).

  • Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
  • Experience :   Working with children or in educational environments preferred.
  • Technical Skills :

    • Mobility and functional capacity assessment

  • Adaptive equipment consultation
  • Soft Skills :  Interdisciplinary collaboration, family communication, inclusive practice
  • Additional Requirements :

    • Completion of NC DCDEE background check if serving preschool populations.

  • Required participation in Durham Public Schools’ onboarding and training sessions.
  • Must pass all background screening requirements.

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations and re-evaluations per IDEA and DPS policies.
  • Deliver direct therapy and consultation for students with mobility or access challenges.
  • Participate in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Provide expertise on adaptive equipment, positioning, and accessibility.
  • Maintain complete and timely documentation in DPS-approved systems.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to promote inclusion.
