Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Richmond, VA 23226 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D RN)

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 14, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour days; every other weekend and major holidays required

On Call : 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1990 - $2130

Setting : Labor & Delivery, Women's Health, OBGYN unit

Unit Details : 11 Labor Rooms, 2 OBs, 2 ORs, 3 OB ED (Triage), 12 Antepartum / Women's OBGYN unit; average 200 deliveries / month

Note : No local candidates (must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Richmond)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for travel nurse jobs)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required or must obtain within 6 months)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (preferred)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a high-acuity hospital (required)

Fetal monitoring experience required; certification preferred

Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred

Ability to float within Women's Health and OBGYN units as needed

EPIC Electronic Health Record experience (preferred)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Provide, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for women and newborns in a family-centered clinical environment

Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans

Monitor fetal and maternal status, interpret fetal monitoring, and respond to changes in patient condition

Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, versions, and cerclages

Circulate and / or scrub for labor and delivery procedures

Educate and support patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and breastfeeding

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety and quality standards

Float to other Women's Health and OBGYN units as required
