Underground Technical Specialist (Underground Field Technician)

SMS Equipment is excited to continue its growth with the launch of our  new Underground Division in Alaska ! We are currently seeking an  Underground Field Technician-Underground Technical Specialist  to join our team in  Anchorage, Alaska.

In this role, you'll use your technical expertise to support our Komatsu underground equipment, prioritize safety, customers' fleets and work hands-on with a variety of underground heavy equipment and attachments. Sound like the right challenge for you? Learn more below.

Shift : 5x2 rotation

Wage : $35.94 – $51.34 per hour - Dependent on your experience, plus various premiums dependent on the work you are performing.

Your role :

• Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls on underground heavy equipment and attachments.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment and provide recommendations on the extent of repairs.
• Complete new equipment pre-delivery inspections, paperwork and options installations.
• Complete service reports, timecards, warranty claim documentation, procedure creation and maintenance as required.
• Define work scope to be completed and create a work schedule accordingly for yourself and / or other employees.

What you bring :

The successful candidate will be experienced in working with Underground heavy machinery and equipment for a minimum of 3 years . Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Any experience working on component rebuilds will be an asset. Other requirements include :
