Safety Director – Commercial Construction

A leading Atlanta area commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Director to lead the company’s safety program and ensure a proactive culture of safety across all project sites.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of commercial construction safety practices , strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to partner with project teams to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage company-wide safety policies, procedures, and training programs.

Conduct regular jobsite inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, company standards, and client requirements.

Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for field personnel and subcontractors.

Investigate incidents, complete detailed reports, and identify root causes with corrective action plans.

Collaborate with project management, superintendents, and executive leadership to maintain a zero-incident mindset across all projects.

Stay current on OSHA regulations, industry standards, and emerging safety technologies.

Qualifications

8+ years of safety experience within commercial construction, including ground-up and renovation projects.

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

OSHA 30-hour certification required; CHST or CSP preferred.

Proven leadership experience managing multi-project safety programs.

Excellent communication, training, and team-building skills.
