Overview :

We are seeking a dedicated and mechanically inclined Expansion Operator to join our team on the 2nd shift. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience working on expansion or extrusion machines in a plastics manufacturing environment. Shift Details :

Hours : 3 : 00 PM – 11 : 00 PM

Full-time, 40 hours per week with potential for overtime

Key Responsibilities :

Set up and operate expansion machines in accordance with detailed Work Instructions, Shop Orders, Engineering directives, and management instructions to ensure production meets customer specifications.

Monitor machine performance continuously, promptly identifying and resolving issues related to diameter, color, surface quality, and other expansion variables.

Maintain quality standards by adjusting process parameters to meet internal and external specifications, while minimizing material waste.

Recognize early signs of equipment issues, troubleshooting basic mechanical or process-related problems to maintain optimal operation.

Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment by adhering to safety policies, housekeeping standards, and proper tool maintenance.

Handle and store tooling, dies, and inspection tools appropriately, reporting worn or missing items to supervisors for timely replacement.

Assist with routine preventive maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently and reliably.

Communicate any safety concerns or unusual machine conditions immediately to supervision.

Qualifications :

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Ability to read and interpret specific Work Orders and technical instructions.

Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of how extrusion / expansion machinery functions.

Basic math skills for measuring product dimensions such as inside diameter, wall thickness, and length.

Troubleshooting skills with the ability to modify process parameters to ensure product quality.

Flexibility to adapt to manufacturing variables and changing priorities.

Physical ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 40 lbs. repeatedly throughout shifts.
