Our client located in Webster, TX i s a community based cancer center and is seeking a full-time, team-oriented Physicist.
Facilities and Equipment :
The facility is part of a network on the Gulf Coast that consists of 10 cancer centers that provide a full range of external beam radiation and HDR therapy procedures. We currently have 10 linacs (TrueBeam and C-Series), 4 Elekta HDR's, ARIA ROIS, Eclipse, RadCalc used to treat 250 patients per day. The successful candidate will join our team of 8 board certified physicists, 9 board certified radiation oncologists, 7 board certified dosimetrists and Physics Resident program in the Gulf Coast Region. All sites share a single database for ROIS, treatment planning, 2nd check program, and SNC SunCHECK. QA tools include, but are not limited to IC Profiler, MapCheck2, SNC Routine, and 3D scanning system.
The essential duties and responsibilities :
- Full range of on-site clinical medical physics support to include HDR
- Support and participate in physics support for the Gulf Coast Region
- Occasionally, as needed, travel to sites within the region for on-site physics support
- Determines the need for, specifies, and accesses dosimetric and treatment planning equipment including, but not limited to, measurement instruments to calibrate all treatment equipment and monitoring devices, computerized treatment planning systems, computerized water phantom systems with appropriate ionization chambers and diodes, etc.
- Advises and consults with physicians to provide advice or direction to technical staff when patients are being planned or treated.
- ?Desired Skills and Qualifications :
- Applicants must have a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university.
- Must be ABR certified, or have completed a CAMPEP approved residency and be board eligible, and have working experience in a clinical environment.
- Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.
