CTE Construction Trades Career and Technical Education

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to teach high school students content focused on construction trades for application in consumer and career settings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Demonstrate and instruct technical / construction skills including aspects of construction trades.
• Instruct and demonstrate proper safety practices procedures and standards.
• Develop and implement instructional plans and activities in the construction laboratory.
• Build positive relationships with students by providing meaningful and current instruction and by individualizing programs.
• Create and plan effective curriculum-based projects and activities correlated with a specific construction code and theory concept in mind.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools used in the program.
• Manage inventory control including purchasing materials supplies equipment and tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
