Job Description :
The Federal Programs Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Child and Adult Care Feeding Programs (CACFP) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This position ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations, manages program operations, and serves as the primary point of contact for program partners. The lead will coordinate with internal departments to meet program goals and supervise a part-time team throughout the Summer Feeding Initiative.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Manage all aspects of CACFP Programs and SFSP, including applications, budgeting, site selection, training, monitoring, compliance, and reimbursement.Foster and maintain positive relationships with program partners through visits, calls, and other direct forms of communication.Coordinate with the Culinary Department and Sourcing team to ensure meal volume and nutritional requirements align with budgetary constraints.Supervise and support a part-time team throughout the Summer Feeding Initiative.Ensure compliance with all state and federal food program regulations, including required initiatives and training.Serve as an internal expert on CACFP Programs and SFSP, ensuring all policies regarding food handling, storage, and distribution are followed.Maintain accurate records and prepare required reports and reimbursement claims for CACFP Programs and SFSP.Continuously assess and evaluate program effectiveness, implementing necessary changes.Manage food sourcing, inventory, packing procedures, and transportation requests in collaboration with Operations staff and volunteer center coordinators.Track expenses, maintain organized records, and oversee program operations to ensure efficiency.Represent the Food Bank at media and community partner events.Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required.Strong knowledge of finance, budgets, and budgeting processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Ability to work with a diverse group of people at all levels within the organization and community.Additional Requirements :
