Title : Scientific Communications Lead

Location : Greater Cambridge Area, MA (Hybrid 23 days onsite)

Employment Type : Contract

Duration : 8+ Months

About the Role

Join a fast-growing biotech & pharmaceutical organization supporting global medical strategy through high-impact scientific storytelling, narrative development, and cross-functional collaboration across clinical, safety, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refine and steward the Scientific Communication Platform (SCP) and scientific narratives for assigned products (CMV, rare disease, others as assigned)
  • Translate complex clinical, RWE, and HEOR data into clear, audience-specific key messages aligned with global medical strategy
  • Maintain message discipline, version control, and data accuracy across all materials
  • Develop and adapt modular assets (slide decks, FAQs, training resources)
  • Submit materials through Medical Review Committee (MRC) for on-time approvals
  • Manage medical communications agencies to ensure quality, scope, and on-time delivery
  • Partner with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Biostats, Epidemiology, Safety, RWE / HEOR, and Commercial teams

Qualifications

  • Advanced life sciences degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc with relevant experience)
  • 5+ years in Scientific Communications or Medical Affairs (pharma / biotech)
  • Strong scientific writing, storytelling, and narrative development experience
  • SCP ownership or platform stewardship experience preferred
  • Experience in CMV, vaccines, virology, or rare disease strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Veeva MedComms preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects

    • Compensation (MA Pay Transparency)

  • Estimated hourly range : $65$75 / hr (W-2)
  • Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
