Locum ER Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking an experienced ER Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our team on a relief status.

The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include :

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications :

Perform various procedures including fluid therapy, medication administration, enteral feedings, oxygen therapy, basic wound care and CPR.

Triaging and assessment of patient status

Conduct basic phlebotomy, IV catheterization, dose calculations, and hands free digital radiography.

Familiarity with common drugs, including the safe handling and administration of controlled substances.

Proficient in computer input, maintaining logs, and preparing hospital documents.

Strong organizational skills and ability to prepare the clinic for subsequent shifts.

Excellent client communication abilities for diverse situations like discharges, updates, grief counseling, and coordinating with other departments.
