Neogen is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Manufacturing to lead our manufacturing operations in Lansing, MI. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high product quality, and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet customer demand efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include :

• Lead and manage Lansing Manufacturing Operations and associated facilities to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals.
• Collaborate with Planning and Procurement teams to develop production schedules and leverage MRP and inventory systems to minimize backorders.
• Supervise manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and project management teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot production and quality assurance issues as they arise.
• Establish clear productivity and quality goals for the team and measure progress against these metrics.
• Develop and implement plans and budgets to improve operational efficiency and introduce cost-saving initiatives, including automation opportunities.
• Maintain and update manufacturing records, SOPs, and inventory tracking systems.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration schedules, and facility repairs.
• Work closely with the Sourcing team to qualify back-up suppliers and secure raw materials.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance with EPA, DOT, FDA, and other applicable agencies.
• Assist in completing and maintaining federal product registrations and regulatory submissions.
• Participate in raw material and packaging procurement, approving expenditures, and conducting vendor audits where required.
• Support customer contract manufacturing, preparing documentation and coordinating schedules.
• Lead recruiting, hiring, training, and development of manufacturing team members.
• Analyze plant financial performance, contribute to annual budgeting, and manage expenditures to meet targets.
• Prepare monthly operational reports, identify key trends, and recommend strategic improvements.
• Promote a positive, ethical, and collaborative work environment across teams.
