Technical Director – Tunneling

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Technical Director – Tunneling position include :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s preferred; PE license required
• 20+ years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure (flexibility for 17+ with strong tunnel experience); 10+ years in tunnel project leadership
• Lead all technical scopes across the project lifecycle – design, construction, utilities, systems, testing & commissioning
• Oversee coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, city agencies, and transit authorities
• Evaluate tunneling methods (EPB TBM, SEM, drill-and-blast, etc.) based on ground conditions and risk profiles
• Conduct constructability reviews and ensure design / build alignment across disciplines
• Serve as liaison in high-level stakeholder meetings and regulatory discussions
• Mentor engineers, implement QA / QC protocols, and promote safety-by-design principles
• Utilize Procore and related construction management tools

Salary : $250,000 - $350,000 per year, open to higher for the right candidate.
