Position Overview :
The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties related to rework, fitting, and welding, following written and typed instructions, blueprints, and manufacturer's specifications. This indoor position offers facility heating and air conditioning.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Align, position, and fit components using applicable machines, tools, and equipment.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for final welding.
- Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, and heat effects for projecting locations of holes, cuts, and bends.
- Use hand tools and operate applicable shop machines.
- Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing on various metals.
- Maintain production documentation as required.
- Comply with all Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Facility Responsibilities :
Perform intermediate and precision welding techniques.Design, fabricate, join, and repair components using various welding techniques.Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners, and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, and specifications to determine work requirements.Education and Required Qualifications :
High school graduate / GED or completion of an accredited two-year welder's training program and years of welding experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education equating to or more years total.years of experience welding using MIG and TIG on thin material.Self-starter, able to work overtime and alter shifts as needed.Preferred Qualifications :
years of experience using spot welding machines.Knowledge in setting up and running ARC stud and spot welding.Skilled in the fabrication, joining, and repair of metal objects, equipment, fixtures, and structures.Experience with Laser Welder in a production environment.Knowledge of applicable codes and welding techniques.Program, set up, and run weld jobs on robot welding machines utilizing FANUC controls.Working Conditions :
Normal manufacturing environment with frequent lifting of materials up to pounds.Requires safety equipment such as eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats.No loose-fitting clothes or jewelry permitted.Standing % of the time with some overtime needed.Works under immediate supervision.
