Optics : Ray tracing, diffraction patterns, interference calculations. Astrophysics : Stellar evolution calculations, cosmological simulations, gravitational problems. PhD or Master's degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational). Research experience in computational or theoretical physics. Publications or projects involving numerical simulations. Deep physics knowledge across multiple subfields. Strong programming skills in Python (numpy, scipy, matplotlib). Experience with numerical simulation methods. Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques. Ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows. Creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas. Understanding of numerical accuracy and error propagation. Attention to detail for answer verification. About the project
We are seeking experienced physicists to create computationally intensive physics problems for an advanced AI evaluation project. Your work will help train models to handle complex, multi-step challenges that mirror real-world research and analytical workflows.This is a project-based freelance opportunity.
What you'll do
- Design original computational physics problems that simulate real physics research workflows.
- Create problems requiring Python programming to solve (using numpy, scipy, matplotlib).
- Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days / weeks).
- Develop problems requiring non-trivial reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from physics practice.
- Verify solutions using Python with standard physics simulation libraries.
- Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
