Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. This is a long-term contract position offering a great opportunity to showcase your skills in managing financial transactions and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring experience in accounts payable processes and a proactive attitude to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities :

• Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.
• Reconcile account discrepancies and resolve any issues related to payments or billing.
• Perform data entry tasks, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
• Collaborate with the operations team to oversee payment approvals and ensure timely processing.
• Utilize systems such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage accounts payable functions.
• Conduct check runs, including preparing and distributing payments to vendors.
• Code invoices appropriately to ensure correct processing and compliance with company policies.
• Support organizational efforts by maintaining accurate and organized financial documentation.
• Communicate effectively with brokers and other stakeholders to resolve payment or invoice-related queries.
• Assist with financial reporting and provide insights on accounts payable status as needed. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
• Proficiency in financial software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize and analyze data.
• Familiarity with invoice processing, coding, and reconciliation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of transactions daily.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Strong organizational abilities to maintain accurate financial records.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
