Summary

As an emergency response medical professional, you will provide immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses such as cardiac arrests or strokes. You will deliver advanced life support care from the moment of contact until patient care is transferred to the receiving medical facility.

Job Duties

• Represent our ambulance service on duty at public events, expositions, and other functions, while providing standby ambulance services as needed.
• Accurately document patient assessments and treatments in our patient care charting software.
• Caring for patients in various crisis situations, while delivering medical, traumatic, and therapeutic services.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms for advanced life support.
• Assess injuries or illnesses to prioritize and establish appropriate medical procedures, including stabilization and care.
• Follow dispatcher instructions and operate emergency vehicles safely to destinations.
• Administer medications as directed by a physician, using injection, intravenous procedures, or orally.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel at treatment facilities to receive treatment instructions.
• Thoroughly clean and decontaminate the ambulance after transporting or treating any patient with infectious diseases, reporting any cases to relevant authorities.

Physical Demands

You should be able to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs for short distances. The role requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
