Instructional Manager CCTE

The position of Instructional Manager CCTE is responsible for providing direct support and indirect supervision to teachers in the delivery of classroom instruction for multiple Programs of Study. This position provides leadership in the development and improvement of teaching and learning; coordination of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO's) Regional, State and National competitive events; monitoring of teachers and instruction to ensure compliance with the Carl Perkins Local Plan and State Standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Serves as an instructional teacher leader in the assigned curricular / program area, assists with implementing appropriate state approved curriculum and meeting identified needs to address the rigor of CCTE course standards.
• Assists school administrators and teachers to ensure alignment of Programs of Study, courses, certifications and competencies with industry standards and needs for MTEA clusters.
• Assists teachers, as needed or requested in the development of effective content specific instructional strategies, curriculum, and instructional assessments.
• Assists with on-going orientation of new teachers in the assigned curricular / program area.
• Conducts regular classroom visits and assists with teacher performance evaluations using the district's most current observation tool.
• Assists professional school-based personnel and / or community representatives regarding the assigned curricular / program area.
• Plan and conduct monthly professional development for teachers which reflect trends and innovations in the program area.
• Serves as liaison between the Department of College Career and Technical Education, teachers and principals on career and technical education matters and makes recommendations pertaining thereto.
• Collaborates with CCTE faculty, counselors and CCTE educators to establish and facilitate career and technical pathways for students transitioning to postsecondary education, training, or employment.
• Maintain external contact with the Tennessee State Department staff and specialists within the assigned program area, local post-secondary institutions and business and industry personnel.
• Performs other related responsibilities as required or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction Administration, Administration and Supervision or other related areas plus an additional five (5) years of experience in management, administration or supervision; OR a combination of education / experience totaling nine (9) years. Current Tennessee Teaching License required. A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a career technology educator or industry experience. Masters' degree preferred. Preferred knowledge of the Student Information Systems (SIS), competency / concentrator and participant reports, and College and Career Readiness (CCR) and Size, Scope and Quality Indicators (SSQI) data reporting systems. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND / OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).
