Internal Medicine Physician

Cross Country Locums is seeking a BC / BE Internal Medicine (IM) Hospitalist to provide coverage for a facility in Texas(TX). Please see details below :

Schedule and Coverage :

• Physician Day Shift (7a-7p) with Night Call.
• Day : Daytime physician works 7a-7p then has night call 7p-7a.
• Night : covered by APP
• Swing : N / A
• EMR : EPIC

Requirements :

PROCEDURES REQUIRED : The site has only one surgeon and CRNA on call. If they are in surgery, Hospitalist needs to be available. The procedures required are intubation and placing central lines. The ability to manage an uncomplicated vent patient is also required.

ACLS, BLS required.

BC or BE in IM. FM is extremely rare at this hospital. Considered on a case by case basis with EXTENSIVE hospitalist experience.

Scope of Work :

ICU Open

Average Day Census : 16-18

Average Day Admits : 3-9

Average Swing Admits : N / A

Average Night Admits : 1-3

Hospitalists responsible for running codes

ED MD will respond to Rapid Response Team , yet will turn over to hospitalist once he / she arrives in order to return to the ED

Pay Rate - $160 / hr to $170 / hr

Orientation Info :

Prior to the new provider s first shift, they have to do the online electronically. They also have to schedule one shadowing shift the day prior to their first actual confirmed clinical shift. This will run 4-8 hours. If they're a daytime provider, their shadowing shift will begin at 8AM, and if they're a nighttime provider, their shadowing shift will begin at 7PM.
