Porter / Entry Level Maintenance Technician

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a Porter / Entry Level Maintenance Technician in Calvert County, Maryland for Calvert Hills Apartments. This fast growing, property management company is largely based in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Applicants who are qualified for this position have basic maintenance experience. Experience with minor appliance repairs, general carpentry, drywall and painting are a plus. It is imperative that the Porter be able to work independently and also as a member of a team.

This position is responsible for keeping the building and grounds clean and assisting the Maintenance Technicians when needed. In addition to grounds, the position will assist with technical maintenance tickets, assist with unit turnovers and be part of the after-hours on-call rotation. The Porter directly reports to the Community Manager. Hourly wage is dependent on experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Energetic, self-motivated individual who is able to work as a team
• Entry level maintenance experience is desired; experience painting, drywall, minor appliance repair are a plus!
• Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition
• Must be able and willing to work weekends and be part of an on-call rotation
