Expected pay for this position is $29.01 - $34.13 / hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

POSITION SUMMARY : The Electrician installs, tests, repairs, replaces and maintains specialized electrical systems, signal, communications and electrical circuits, equipment and appliances. Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect electrical hazards and need for adjustment, relocation or replacement.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School diploma or GED
• Requires a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of principles of electricity, mathematics and physics, as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints at a level normally acquired through completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• Knowledge with building automation systems and programming.
• 5 five years on the job experience necessary in order to understand electrical repair procedures as well as electrical sections of applicable public building and safety codes.
• May be required to successfully pass proficiency tests as specifically required by State or local authorities.
