Overview

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer for our New York / New Jersey district with experience in the design and / or construction of residential and / or commercial buildings. The successful candidate will assist in determining the cause, origin, and extent of construction defects, structural failures, water intrusions, and other failures. An understanding and proficiency of installation standards, practices, and procedures within the building construction industry is essential.

Although this position is remote, the candidate will travel in the NY / NJ areas and surrounding states for two to three hours daily. The candidate must reside in the NYC, NJ, or Long Island areas.

The salary range for this position is $104,100.00 - $156,100.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location, and certifications / licensure.

Essential Job Functions

• In this key position involve investigating and analyzing residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal matters.
• Assignments may include contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material deficiencies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses.
• Duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document on-site conditions, overseeing field-testing, and reviewing historical documentation.
• Preparation of oral and written reports to document the causes of failure, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and recommended remediation is essential, as is providing opinions and expert testimony in litigation matters.
