As a professional engineer (PE), you'll engage in hands-on projects utilizing OpenRoads technology and work closely with the DOT and various stakeholders.

What matters most

To thrive as a Transportation Engineer at Ackerman Estvold Engineering and Consulting, a robust set of skills and qualifications are essential. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on transportation. An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required, with the expectation of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 12 months or already possessing a North Dakota PE license. Relevant experience of 3-6 years in transportation or civil engineering design and consulting is crucial, as is proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, enabling them to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Moreover, the capacity to analyze and model traffic flow patterns, while developing innovative solutions for infrastructure challenges, will be key to making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
