Under the management of the Clinical Program Manager the Athletic Trainer will collaborate with the provider and care team to triage and care for the orthopedic patient. Tasks include rooming in of patients, patient education, preparing for patient injections, care of the pre and post-op patient including physical examinations under the supervision of the provider.

Participates in and / or facilitates safety and quality improvement efforts. Promotes clinical trials and research activities. Fosters academic and clinical investigation through participation in research projects in the specialty
practice area and related fields of study. Participates in literature review, data collection and data entry.
4. 4. Professional Development and Education Participates in enhancing the professional development of the athletic trainer and other health care
providers involved in the care of orthopedic patients.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelors of Science degree in physical therapy or allied health sciences required.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience as an athletic trainer.
LICENSURE
Nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC), Connecticut state licensure, BLS required.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Casting and experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Must be able to assist mobility impaired patients and assist in patient transfers.
