General Information :

James Madison University's Office of Human Resources is accepting applications for a part-time Recruitment and Employment Services Assistant. This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers as well as administrative support to the Recruitment and Employment Services team.

Duties and Responsibilities :

This position works closely with the HR Onboard Specialists and Recruitment Specialists by : providing assistance with the recruitment process to internal and external customers via phone, email and in person, assisting applicants with the online application process, supporting special Recruitment and Employment Services Team projects, initiatives and events, such as Connections Day, Job Fairs, etc., providing additional general administrative and clerical support for other HR functions on an as needed basis, tracking reference letters that are received, scanning them, and following up on references that are not received, running reports in a timely manner and ensuring data is accurate, scanning documents into an electronic filing system.

Qualifications :

The successful candidate must have : demonstrated excellent administrative practices and procedures, strong interpersonal skills, customer service experience and the proven ability to build strong working relationships, excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, qualities such as professionalism and adaptability, the ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task, demonstrated typing and data entry skills and computer knowledge in a Windows based environment, preferably Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

Conditions of Employment : Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check. This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
