Accounting Technician (Dental)

Hours : 8 : 00 - 5 : 00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Dental Accounting Technician is responsible for managing the billing and collections process for all dental financial accounts, using bookkeeping and accounting principles and procedures, while ensuring confidentiality and security of patient billing information.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Verify insurance (Private and Medicaid) and enter data
• Submit insurance claims
• Post payments
• Generate billing statements for patients
• Prepare daily deposit reports for the finance department
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable
• Compile monthly reports in Excel for the finance department
• Prepare refunds for patients and third-party payors as needed

Education / Experience : High school diploma or equivalent. Coursework and / or experience in accounting, bookkeeping or medical / dental coding. Two years of experience in dental and / or medical finance and billing. Experience with NC Medicaid / NC Tracks, Excel, dental software preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
