A reputable, patient-focused dental practice is seeking a Dental Assistant to join their brand-new office in Akron, OH. Key Responsibilities :

• Review the daily patient schedule and prepare operatories by stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and building out trays in advance of appointments.
• Greet and escort patients to treatment rooms, collect dental history and intake information , and ensure comfort throughout their visit.
• Capture digital X-rays using Shick Sensors (no traditional bite wings).
• Assist the dentist chairside during procedures including fillings, crowns, dentures, whitening, and other restorative or cosmetic treatments .
• Support advanced dental procedures , such as bite molds and impressions for crowns, dentures, and night guards.
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records and assist with documentation during exams.
• Perform routine sterilization duties, including autoclaving, spore testing, trap cleaning, and waterline maintenance .
• Follow OSHA and infection control standards to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Provide occasional assistance at the front desk answering patient questions, handling prior authorizations, and scheduling appointments as needed.
