Steel Fitter

Steel Fabrication company in South Seattle seeks a hardworking, dependable lead fitter / fabricator. This is not an entry level position. Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fitter, not a welder. Our company works exclusively in hot-rolled steel, specializing in structural work. Our scope of work includes structural beams and columns, canopies, stairs, embeds, and handrail.

Applicant must possess the following :

• WABO D1.1 FCAW certification.
• WABO D1.1 GMAW certification (preferable but not necessary).
• Ability to read and comprehend steel fabrication drawings.
• Ability to perform layout on a large scale : fitting steel beams and columns with great accuracy
• Ability to perform multi-pass, structural welds.
• Understanding of Pre-Qualified welding procedures.
• Understand and comply with supervisors’ direction and company safety policies.
• Work reasonably and safely with other welders / fitters in the company.
• Proficient with ironworking tools and equipment : oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutter, grinders, bandsaws, ironworker, notchers, presses, drills, taps, pneumatic tools, overhead cranes, rigging, forklifts, etc.…
• Be available from 6am-2 : 30pm, 5 days a week.
• Have reliable transportation to the Seattle Area

Compensation is dependent on experience, with a review after a 90-day period.
