Job Summary / Description :

WTOC is looking for a genuine morning person to anchor THE News at Daybreak! This role is all about energy urgency and connection. Daybreak prepares viewers for whats ahead informs them of what happened overnight and takes them to breaking news where its happening. This is a high-profile position at our station anchoring the #1 morning show in the Savannah market. If early alarms dont bother you then apply now!

Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

The right candidate for this role will :

• Anchor compelling and engaging morning newscasts connecting with our audience and setting the tone for their day.
• Develop updates for network cut-ins and digital newscasts post 7 a.m.
• Collaborate closely with producers reporters and the weather team to craft dynamic and informative broadcasts.
• Contribute to story development and editorial decisions ensuring accuracy fairness and relevance.
• Make strong connections in our communities developing sources for stories and relationships for station initiatives.
• Turn compelling enterprising content for other newscasts on a regular basis as a working journalist in our newsroom.
• Manage their time efficiently and effectively.
• Field anchor as necessary when large news events happen in our market.
