Job Overview :
The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for inputting, updating, and maintaining accurate data in various systems and databases. This role involves working with a variety of data sources, including customer information, product details, financial records, and sustainability metrics, to ensure that all information is accurate, well-organized, and easily accessible. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and enjoys working with data to help streamline operations.
This is a remote position, so the candidate should be self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and productivity.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Entry & Management :
Accurately input large volumes of data into internal systems (e.g., customer databases, project management tools, inventory records).
Verify and review data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Update and maintain data records on a regular basis, ensuring all information is up-to-date and organized.
Correct any discrepancies or errors in data, working closely with team members to resolve issues.
Data Organization & Maintenance :
Organize data in structured formats for easy access and retrieval.
Maintain data integrity and confidentiality while adhering to company policies and best practices.
Regularly back up data and manage storage systems, ensuring data security and accessibility.
Reporting & Analysis Support :
Assist in generating reports from the database as needed, including tracking key metrics related to sustainability, sales, and operations.
Help compile data for financial, project, or sustainability reports.
Provide data entry support for various departments, ensuring that all information is consistent and reliable.
Customer & Product Data Management :
Enter customer information, orders, and feedback into databases, ensuring all details are accurate.
Manage product inventories and stock levels in databases, tracking product availability and updating records as needed.
Support to Other Departments :
Work closely with other departments (sales, marketing, finance, operations) to ensure data is captured and entered accurately for their respective needs.
Provide assistance in organizing and maintaining digital files, including documents, spreadsheets, and project-related data.
Process Improvement :
Suggest improvements to data management processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
Stay up-to-date with the latest data entry tools and technologies to improve workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Proven experience as a Data Entry Clerk, Administrative Assistant, or in a similar role.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Proficient in data entry software, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), and database management systems.
Ability to work with large datasets and maintain consistent quality.
Excellent typing skills with a high rate of accuracy and speed.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple data-entry tasks simultaneously.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with CRM tools, accounting software, or project management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, QuickBooks, Trello).
Knowledge of data management best practices, including data validation and error-checking procedures.
Experience working in an environmentally-focused company or familiarity with sustainability data.
Familiarity with automation tools or data integration platforms is a plus.
