The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

As the Technical Director of Applications Engineering, you will have a significant impact on DRS Land Electronics business by leading a team of strong subject matter experts to conduct customer demos, architect system solutions, and collaborate with Business Development partners to capture product, systems, and services business. You will lead rapid prototype development and demonstration of product and system solutions while serving as a customer advocate to influence internal strategy, product development, and IRAD investment decisions. Additionally, you will have international travel opportunities to educate and influence customers, mature requirements, and foster trust by incorporating best-of-breed architectures and solutions that reliably and cost-effectively meet customer needs on schedule.

What You Will Do

Application Engineering Team Lead

• Lead technical teams of subject matter experts to conduct demonstrations and technical briefings to domestic and international customers
• Architect, design, implement, and optimize tactical edge networks for ground vehicles, command posts, and forward operating bases
• Oversee rapid prototype development and demonstration of product and system solutions
• Serve as a customer advocate to influence internal strategy, product development, and IRAD investment decisions
• Lead, coordinate and provide guidance to the Applications Engineering Team in partnership with domestic and international Business Development Teams
• Manage demo hardware, software, and personnel coordination to include training and maintenance / update of demo hardware
