Job Summary :
The 10-Week Summer Internship program is an extraordinary opportunity to gain hands-on experience and to learn from best-in-class talent at a first-class organization. Experience day-to-day projects and tasks in Community Impact! You will work during the season on game and non-game days to get the full experience. Your time will not only be spent adding significant value to the organization but you will also get the opportunity to build amazing relationships throughout the organization through a series of Leadership-Led Coffee Chats and Networking Events. The programs focus is to provide insight into what the workforce is like give a taste of the professional sports industry and help guide you to a career suited for you.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with :
Exemplifying our Padres Core Values / Mission Statement : Communication and Collaboration Progress and Innovation Accountability and Integrity and Effort and Results through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego communityShadow the Community Impact Department members and train in a variety of tasksAssist with Padres Foundation fundraisers including 5050 Raffle Padres Summer Camps Favorite Things Baskets Hats Off Their Heads and Dinner on the DiamondAssist with Padres events and outreach in the community including player appearances alumni-military softball game and Padres Volunteer Team eventsSupport the Community Impact Department with pregame activities and ceremonies donation request fulfillment manage the Community Impact inbox and other administrative dutiesAttend Padres community events and activations volunteer opportunities player appearances etc.Other duties and projects as assignedYour areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most :
Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint etc. and knowledge of basic office equipment including telephone fax copier etc.Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal and effectively work well with others in a collaborative respectful mannerStrong sense of teamwork; able to create and maintain positive relationships within organization with a wide variety of co-workersExceptional organizational skills with ability to follow directions and meet established deadlinesMaintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion integrity and accountabilityMaintain consistent punctual and reliable attendanceBilingual in English / Spanish is a plusYou will be required to meet the following :
Current college / university student who has completed Sophomore or Junior year by June 2026 OR current graduate studentMust be at least 18 years of age by the start of employmentMust be available mid-June 2026 through mid-August 2026Able to work during Padres home games and other special events as needed which may include weekends and eveningsMinimum physical requirements : able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 poundsAs a condition of employment you must successfully complete all post-offer pre-employment requirements including but not limited to a background checkPay and additional compensation :
Per the California pay transparency law the hourly pay rate for this position is $21.06. Part time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
