Electrician

The Electrician will install, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and distribution systems involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision. Must have thorough knowledge of electrical codes regarding installation of electrical systems. Must have a minimum of four years' experience in the electrical maintenance field with the knowledge and understanding of high voltage and low voltage distribution systems.
Shift : Mon.-Fri. 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM (Saturday / Sunday Off)
Pay Rate : $43.67 / per hour
Essential & Other Job Functions :
- Keep records, write reports and identify electrical materials.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches and / or verbal instructions to plan, layout and install electrical equipment.
- Must work on ladders, bucket trucks, scaffolds, and pits.
- Read, write, understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
- Establish and maintain a positive cooperative working relationship with supervisors, fellow workers, department heads and other members of the campus community.
- Work in an environment subject to frequent changing of priorities and time deadlines.
- Manually lift up to 60 pounds. Heavier material or equipment is lifted using other methods.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair any of the variety of electrical equipment or systems, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, motor starters, conduit systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Install and maintain wiring systems, fixtures and emergency lighting systems in existing buildings.
- Make necessary computations relating to load requirements.
- Must utilize a variety of electrician's tools and testing instruments.
- Must have good working knowledge of control systems, electric and pneumatic, in order to make minor repairs and adjustments.
- Must observe safety rules and regulations at all times.
- OSHA 10 training preferred.
- Must have sufficient knowledge of HVAC and plumbing equipment to make minor repairs and adjustments.
- Must have sufficient knowledge in the installation of meters and related equipment wherever requested on campus.
- Must be a high school or trade school graduate.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must possess a Massachusetts State Journeyman's license.
Physical / Environmental Demands :
