Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support Power Distribution Product development. You will be responsible for developing specification sheets, submittals, and O&M manuals, as well as assisting with product brochures for marketing. This role involves creating and editing owner manuals, user manuals, and technical documents for industrial equipment and their components, with a focus on power distribution equipment such as switchboards and switchgears.

Responsibilities

Develop and edit specification sheets, submittals, and O&M manuals.

Assist in the creation of product brochures for marketing purposes.

Create and edit owner manuals, user manuals, and technical documents for internal use.

Work with power distribution equipment such as switchboards and switchgears.

Utilize software such as MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Pro, and PDF files.

Essential Skills

Experience creating and editing owner manuals, installation manuals, and user manuals for industrial equipment.

Experience in technical equipment and interpreting technical documents.

Proficiency in using Adobe Pro and reading schematics.

Strong skills in MS Word and MS Excel.

Creative problem-solving skills are highly valued.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe Pro.

Ability to read one-line electrical drawings.

Experience writing manuals for power distribution equipment is a plus.

Experience supporting marketing efforts is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment with opportunities to work remotely after an initial two-month onsite training period. A hybrid schedule may be possible once familiarized with the role. The standard workweek is 40 hours, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 / hr.
