Patient Liaison
Under direct supervision, responsible for interfacing with patient, patients' family, and hospital staff to ensure quality care and an excellent patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison between the employer, patient, and patients' relatives.
- Communicates patients' problems, questions, complaints and concerns to appropriate staff members.
- Collects information from incoming patients regarding services needed, insurance coverage, or financial status.
- Explains procedures and policies and refers patient for proper services as required.
- Establishes rapport with staff and assists in the preparation of reports regarding any incidents that could result in legal action if not resolved.
- Educates staff on humanizing patients' treatment and / or confinement.
- Assists in completion of admissions or insurance forms.
- Contacts insurance providers to verify coverage and obtain authorization for service.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
Knowledge of computer systems, software applications, and automated systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office.Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA.Detail oriented and strong multitasking and organizational skills.EDUCATION :
High School diploma or GED is required
Required Skills
Two (2) years related experience is required.
