Medical Gas Technician, 1St Class

Responsible for the maintenance and construction of instrument AIR systems, Medical Vacuum Systems, Medical Air Systems, devices and peripheral equipment. The incumbent is directly responsible for troubleshooting for problem identification and repair of instruments used in regulatory process control.

• Diagnose problems, complete repairs or make adjustments.
• Prepares mechanical parts by operating equipment and using hand tools, such as, cutting, sanding, filing, and drilling.
• Completes mechanical assignments by lifting and holding parts and components in place; scraping and cleaning parts and components.
• Completes mechanical design projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Shutting off, cleaning and relighting central building heating furnaces and boilers.
• Make proper entries on repair orders, inspection forms and other necessary documents.
• Makes recommendations to improve the functionality of equipment and systems.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade / Technical / Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study required

Medical vacuum, medical air, instrument air maintenance and installation experience 1-5 years required
