Telecom / Network Engineer

Location : Rochester, MN

Job Summary :

CTG is seeking a skilled Telecom / Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise telecom and network infrastructure. This role involves hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and limited project management while collaborating across IT teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, deploy, and support telecom / network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and wireless.

Manage and troubleshoot complex network issues with minimal supervision.

Participate in architecture design, technology selection, and implementation planning.

Coordinate and lead small network projects and provide input on technical strategy.

Ensure network availability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience :

Expert understanding of telecom / network concepts and the 7-layer OSI model.

Proficiency with network infrastructure (routing, switching, wireless) and monitoring tools.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Customer-focused, able to work independently or in a team.

Bachelor's degree with 2+ years' experience, Associate's with 4+ years, or 6+ years' equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with network security (TrustSec, ISE, VPN, DNS security).

Familiarity with SDN, SASE, Cloud networking, and automation tools (Ansible, Python, Splunk).

Cisco experience; CCNA preferred .

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $59.00 to $67.00 / hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and applicable certifications. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
