American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float Pool position requiring cardiac drip titration and strong floating skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital setting as part of the Telemetry Float Pool, floating between Telemetry, MedSurg, Cardiac Tele, ICU, and observation unitsCares for adult patients with cardiac, neuro, surgical, ortho, oncology, and post-procedural needsPatient ratios range from 1 : 3-4 on Tele, 1 : 4 on MedSurgRequires the ability to interpret EKGs and titrate cardiac drips (Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine down only)Uses Cerner EMR for charting12-hour night shifts, 7-7, with four weekend shifts per schedule and required to work two of three major holidaysFloating may include assignments at two campuses within 9 miles and floating to similar or lower-acuity units, potentially mid-shiftOrientation includes 12 hours general and 2 days floor-specific trainingWill float between all Telemetry, MedSurg, and observation units depending on facility needsNotification of floating and campus location is given 1.5 hours prior to the shift; rarely may float between campuses in a single shiftMust work in navy-colored scrubsCharge nurses and clinical supervisors provide unit support but do not carry patient assignmentsNo pediatric patients; must care for ages 15 and older onlyMust pass sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes during orientationRT and Pharmacy services available 24 / 7, but no IV team providedReturning candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit facility within the past yearPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility for AZ positions\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; no pending certifications allowedMinimum of 2 years RN experience requiredMust be able to titrate cardiac drips and interpret EKGsMust pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing (maximum 2 attempts)Must pass a pass / fail Sim Lab on orientation dayCopy of driver's license required for considerationTwo professional references needed : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
