Job Summary

Under general supervision, serve as a Health Education Specialist for Early Head Start (EHS) and Head Start (HS) Community Programs (CHS). Main duties managing data collection, data entry, and contributing to program evaluation. Responsible for the implementation of the EHS and HS performance standards. Provides education and prevention services to families, children, and staff in the programs. Able to provide culturally competent health education messages and facilitating individualized behavior change interventions to meet families and children needs. Identify new and existing resources and organizations that serve health needs, develop, and maintain community partnerships, and organize and assist with educational activities focused on health. Participate in events / trainings / presentations with community partners and childcare centers. Collaborates and helps with team projects and / or activities and additional administrative support. Ensures that identified health needs and medical emergencies are referred to the RN / Child Care Health Consultant team. Requires travel between various sites.

Essential Functions :

• Participates in activities defined by our grants, specifically related to children services. (20%)
• Acts as a point of contact between ACS-CHS Head Start Program and the agency support. (20%)
• Continues to work with the agency to meet grant requirements. (20%)
• Helps with documenting and communicating any changes to processes. (20%)
• Assists with overall data tracking. (20%)
