Position Summary
The Associate Program Director of the Physician Assistant (PA) Program at CUAA will be responsible for assisting the Program Director (PD) in the overall administration of the Physician Assistant Program. This role will specifically focus on assisting the PD to oversee activities related to didactic education as well as coordination of overall program assessment and accreditation efforts.
All Concordia faculty members are active members of Christian congregations; the university gives priority in hiring to members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Promote the mission of Concordia university to all faculty staff students and to the community at large
- Assist the Program Director (PD) in leading the annual review and discussion regarding the programs success in fulfilling its mission and vision;
- Promote effective working relationships among faculty staff and students;
- Serve actively on committees within the department school and / or university
- Attend required university events as outlined in the faculty handbook;
- Maintain close communication with the PD in helping him / her provide leadership in all activities relating to the Physician Assistant program.
Program
Assist the Program Director and Medical Director in reviewing didactic curriculum to ensure alignment with NCCPA and PAEA blueprints;Review and analyze didactic student academic and professional performance data at midterms and at the end of each term that is collected by the programs administrative assistant (AA); present academic progress trends to program faculty and the PA Student Progress Committee each term;Direct and mentor program faculty in adherence to CUAA PA program policies as outlined in student handbooks including documentation and remediation of student academic and professionalism concerns;Conduct annual review of the didactic student handbook and assist the Director of Clinical Education with annual review of clinical student handbook; initiate development and revision of program policies and procedures as needed;Train PA program remediation specialists;Review and analyze remediation data as collected by the programs administrative assistant;Oversee new student processes including assigning pre-matriculation courses assigning faculty advisors and pairing first-year students with second-year student mentors.Assessment and Accreditation
Ensure program compliance with Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) requirements for accreditation;Ensure program is following annual assessment data collection and analysis timeline as part of ongoing program self-study;Coordinate the analysis of annual faculty staff and student survey of institutional support data and present trends to faculty at the annual assessment retreat (SSR 14B);Assist PD and faculty in analyzing end of course faculty and student data as part of ongoing program assessment of effectiveness of the didactic curriculum (SSR 14C and 14G);Assist Director of Clinical Education and faculty in analyzing end of course student and preceptor data as part of ongoing program assessment of effectiveness of the clinical curriculum (SSR 14D);Coordinate the analysis of NCCPA and PAEA student data including PANCE pass rates EOR PACKRAT and Summative Assessment exam performance compared to national performance data; analyze student exit survey data; present trends to program faculty for curriculum review and revision as needed (SSR 14E);Ensure program website and ARC-PA portal are compliant with ARC-PA requirementsCoordinate with program accreditation consultant and PD in completing all ARC-PA reports and documents as required including quarterly reports for any open faculty positions and annual program report;Assist the PD in educating program faculty in understanding current ARC-PA standards and updating faculty and staff as changes occur.Students
Teach 6 credits per year or the equivalent;Hold office hours according to university requirements;Assist in student recruitment advising and mentoring;Actively participate provide direction and assist in selection of students for admission;Assess student performance in courses directed; assist faculty and provide overview of the appropriate assessment of students and the prompt identification of deficiencies;Provide oversight and verify appropriate remediation processes in courses directed.Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience
Required :
Graduate of an accredited PA Program (holding Masters Degree or higher)Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and PA licensure / eligibility for licensure for the state of MichiganAt least 10000 hours (five years full-time or equivalent) of clinical experience as a Physician AssistantAt least one year of full-time experience as PA program faculty with program leadership experience preferred.Prior experience with ARC-PA accreditation processes and procedures with accreditation leadership skills preferred.Preferred :
