This is a hybrid role based out of Plymouth, MN.

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing production materials, manufacturing plant and maintenance equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures; reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions, investigating and developing sources of supplies, issuing RFQ requests, and reviewing quotations; and purchasing goods and services consistent with our values.

What you'll do :

• Leads and mentors Associate Buyers in the organizing, planning, and writing RFQ's, RFP's, contract language and amendments
• Reviews requirements for reasonableness
• Recommends and applies appropriate procurement strategy
• Reviews purchase requisitions for completeness, evaluates method of procurement
• Determines and identifies supplier pool
• Review and compare price, quantity, quality, availability, terms and conditions, and payment terms
• Issues PO's to procure designated types of commodities and equipment
• Prepares revisions to PO's when requirements change
• Monitors contracts and orders and expedites delivery
• Reconciles discrepancies between invoices and PO's
• Assists receiving personnel in resolving supplier issues
• Maintains records, source information, and purchasing reference files
• Establishes new sources of supply and ensures all documentation requirements are filed in document management system
• Ensures that risks related to services and supplies are identified and communicated
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.

Physical Demands :

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment :

Indoors (A / C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
