The Information Technology Specialist will administer the network (LAN / WAN) for GLITEC servers' day-to-day operations, system backups, user accounts, e-mail, and internet. Install and support LAN / WAN hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Provide network support to users to ensure customer satisfaction by providing training, monitoring systems, and resolving problems. Perform all troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose hardware and software problems. Coordinate the procurement of new computer equipment and software. Daily attendance is an essential function of this position. This position is in our Green Bay, Wisconsin office.

Duties :

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Install workstation and printers on local area network (LAN). Maintain network operations, establish network users and user environments, assemble, and configure network and associated services. Maintain network user profiles, user environments, directories, and security.
• Develops and maintains internet and intranet access.
• Ensure computerized programs and information are secured through regular backups and off-site storage.
• Communicate and coordinate schedule for network / server availability, backups, and downtime to users, changes in hardware, software, and applications that may impact users both verbally and in writing. Ensure accurate and timely communications with all staff both locally and off-site. Document all changes.
• Work with and in cooperation with the Great Lakes Inter Tribal Council (GLITC) IT Specialist.
• Upgrade hardware and software components as required. Installs new software and applications. Tests as necessary. Update the operating system and manage memory usage, network printing and technical resources.
• Implement and monitor Server controls to ensure standards are maintained.
• Instruct users in use of network, computer equipment, software, and operating procedures.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain portions of GLITEC home website and assist in development and maintenance of GLITEC program websites.
• Provide technical support to staff across all GLITEC satellite offices, with the ability to travel to these offices.
• Respond to needs and questions of users concerning their access to network resources. Troubleshoot and resolve routine hardware and software issues. Replace or upgrade defective or inadequate hardware and software. Perform follow-up calls as needed on resolved issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems and application software used to provide high levels of support to users. Provides service support and ensures the user needs are met in an accurate, timely and userfriendly manner. Additional Duties and Responsibilities :
• Evaluate local area network hardware, software requirements and capabilities. Make recommendations to staff for training on program applications. Perform analysis of network needs.
• Document operating issues and solutions. Bring recurring issues to the attention of the Program Director. Recommend solutions for technological challenges.

Qualifications :

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology Systems, or related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in information technology / systems management. Experience with a Native American Tribal organization and / or not-for-profit agency desirable. Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem solving skills; ability to manage time effectively; self-motivation skills; work effectively under pressure; ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external customers; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people. Individuals must be able to follow routine instructions and apply logic in the solving of various computer-related issues. Must be able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must possess a valid driver's license and / or reliable transportation with adequate insurance and ability to travel. Individuals must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem-solving skills; ability to manage time effectively; and self-motivation skills. Individuals must be able to work effectively under pressure and build positive work relationships with internal partners. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with adequate insurance and the ability to travel.
