Your role with us

As a Staff Engagement and Resiliency Advocate at Salem Health, you’ll be the heartbeat of emotional support and connection across our organization—with a vital presence in the high-intensity environment of the Emergency Department. You’ll build trust with staff and physicians, offering guidance through challenges and championing a culture of wellness, inclusivity, and resilience. From leading crisis debriefs to developing innovative wellness workshops, your impact will ripple through every department—empowering individuals and strengthening teams. What you'll do

• Foster meaningful relationships with staff and physicians—particularly within high-acuity areas such as the Emergency Department—through consistent, supportive engagement.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals and teams, including leading crisis debriefs and facilitating referrals to appropriate resources such as EAP and counseling.
• Identify and address signs of burnout, compassion fatigue, and emotional distress by implementing evidence-based resiliency strategies.
• Develop and deliver wellness-focused workshops, peer support initiatives, and educational sessions to promote psychological safety and team cohesion.
• Champion a culture of respect, inclusivity, and confidentiality across all interactions.
• Remain current on best practices in staff wellness and resiliency to inform and enhance program offerings.

Required qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Chaplaincy, or a related field; alternatively, a minimum of four years of relevant work experience will be considered.
