Job Summary and Qualifications

Assess patient and donors clinical status before, during, and after procedures, monitoring vital signs, and managing potential reactions like hypotension, flushing, or itching. Establish and maintain venous access for withdrawing and returning blood, which can include using peripheral veins or central venous catheters.

Operate specialized apheresis equipment to separate blood components, ensuring the machine functions correctly throughout the procedure. Perform various types of apheresis procedures, such as leukapheresis, plasmapheresis,red cell exchange,white cell depletion,therapeutic photopheresis,andstem cell collection.

Educate patients and their families about the apheresis process, post-procedure care, and related health choices.They also coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.Administer blood products or specialized fluids, manage equipment assembly, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.Follow regulatory standards.

What you will do in this role :

You willmonitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions whilemaintainingaccurateand detailed records

You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests toidentifyand assesspatient'scondition.

You willdemonstrateknowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.

You will promote hospital customer service initiatives.

You willutilizenursing process for individual care to meetneedsof patients.

You willdemonstrateabilityto perform technical skills and procedures.

What qualifications you will need :

RN licensure by TN Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state

BLS from the American Heart Association

Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Provider Card w / in 6 months of hire for RNs with six months Oncology experience or 12 months if no Oncology experience.

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN )orBMT Certified Nurse, preferred

BSN preferred.
