Job Summary
The Electrician Senior position at Phoenix College (PC) is a full-time role that involves performing and providing lead oversight for journey level electrical work. The main responsibilities of this position include inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and components.
As an Electrician Senior, you will play a critical role in the maintenance team, responding to time-critical electrical outages of computer equipment and lighting. Additionally, you will promptly attend to other repair requests and new equipment installations. Safety concerns, such as fire alarm and exterior lighting issues, will also be monitored and repaired as needed.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a strong understanding of electrical systems and components, as well as the ability to work independently and provide leadership to others. Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are also essential.

Essential Functions
30% - Provides lead oversight of electrical work including the inspection, repair, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components; assigns and monitors the work of others, performs journey level inspection, repairs, installations, services, and maintenance of electrical systems including conduits, duct systems, light and power circuits, motors, generators, transformers, control equipment, switches and other types of electrical lighting and power components, prepares, oversees and adheres to electrical system inspection and preventative maintenance schedules
30% - Troubleshoots complex electrical problems of equipment, systems and components; performs and oversees electrical system redesigns and reconfigurations, plans and estimates costs for special projects; maintains records, logs and system documentation, develops and maintains specifications for electrical systems and equipment
30% - Installs fire alarms, clocks and bell signal systems, performs cabling and wiring as necessary for the installation of computers and other equipment, computes load requirements against available power sources, checks blueprints on new construction and remodeling to identify possible electrical maintenance problems, serves as electrical inspector on system and equipment installations, requisitions electrical supplies and materials
10% - Performs general maintenance and clean-up work as required, performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Desired Qualifications
1. Six (6) or more years of experience as a journeyman level electrician
2. One (1) or more years of experience as a service electrician
3. Experience with an online work order system such as SchoolDude
4. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel for maintaining service records
5. Experience with Google forms for maintaining service records
