Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen is looking for a skilled Sous Chef to join our Winston-Salem team. We’re known for simple, ingredient-driven cooking with wood-fired meats, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, and house-made breads. Our kitchen combines the relaxed feel of upscale casual dining with the standards and attention to detail of fine dining.
We are looking for a talented Sous Chef who brings experience, confidence, and the ability to run a kitchen with clarity and consistency. This role requires someone who can make solid decisions in the moment, maintain a calm and steady presence during busy services, and set the tone for the team through strong leadership. What We're Looking For :
Pride in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen while managing food costs, inventory, prep lists, and daily production with accuracy.
Ability to read business levels for each shift, conduct thorough line checks, and ensure stations are fully prepared for service.
Skilled in butchering meats and fish and confident supporting seasonal menu development with the Executive Chef.
Calm, confident decision-maker under pressure who leads by example during busy services.
Team-focused leader who trains new team members, mentors developing cooks, and collaborates to solve challenges.
