Adjunct Faculty, Sociology

Position Summary

Prairie State College is seeking a dynamic instructor to teach Introduction to Sociology at Beecher High School in Beecher, IL in Spring or Fall 2026. This is an opportunity to work with great students at a college level but within a high school setting.

The class will meet two days per week (MW or TTH) from 7 : 30 am – 8 : 50 AM. The right candidate will have the opportunity to teach more classes at the main PSC campus in the future.

Successful candidates will have a desire to educate students about foundational principles in sociology and will be responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning and collaborating with their coordinator, Dean, and colleagues to provide an excellent student learning experience. Candidates must also be able to utilize a variety of technology-based programs related to student instruction.

• Master’s Degree in Sociology or in a closely-related discipline with 18 graduate hours in Sociology
