Portfolio Counselor
Overview
Our client is seeking a passionate financial professional with a background in Investments to join their team in their Portland, OR; Dallas, TX; or Tampa, FL office. We are searching for a self-starter with proven success in a financial sales role to communicate effectively and connect with clients to deliver elite service and exceed expectations. The ideal candidate will have the drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment and is willing and able to contribute to an elite team working with high-net-worth clients within the firm. Most importantly, you will educate assigned clients on our client’s investment philosophy to provide a fundamental understanding of the firm’s investment strategy and ensure client retention.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the short-term point of contact for our client’s high net worth clientele
- Create an honest authentic relationship with each client to earn your compensation on high rates of conversion
- Welcome and onboard new high-net-worth clients, ensure that their accounts are funded, and help align the client’s goals and objectives with the firm’s portfolio and investment strategy
- Deliver high touch white glove service alongside a team backed by the Investment Policy Committee (IPC) to exceed expectations and provide unparalleled service, while receiving ongoing sales coaching
- Build an honest, transparent, and authentic relationship with the high-net-worth clients, relating with them to focus on high rates of client conversion
- Articulate the firm’s financial philosophy to the high-net-worth clients to build rapport and establish a lasting and trusting relationship
- Assist in bringing in new assets through client referrals
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or relevant fieldA minimum of 3 years of industry experience in asset management, financial services, and client relationship management, with a range of 3 to 8 years of experienceSeries 65, Series 66, or equivalent license is requiredKnowledge of the following :Solid financial sales experienceInvestment products strategy establishmentStrong capital market knowledge to educate and inform clientsManage complexity in a high volume environmentExcellent communication skills with high net worth clientsBenefits
$65,000-$125,000 base salary per year in the state of WA—new hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range, depending on experienceEligible for discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performanceOUR CLIENT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
Requirements
5 to 7 years or more of selling to stock market investors within the financial industry Current Investment Advisor Representative designation, OR Series 65, OR a combination of FINRA Series 7 and Series 66, OR qualifying financial professional designations or equivalents Extensive experience with bringing in new investor business, high-volume phone activity, and in-person meetings, working as an investment advisor or external wholesaler with a strong track record of success in sales and bringing in new investment assets Record of six-figure earnings in each of the past 3 years (pay for production compensation model)
